Managed Vicidial hosting, from $99/mo

Vicidial is the most capable open-source contact centre platform there is. It is also a Linux server, an Asterisk install, a MariaDB database and a web stack that all have to be built correctly and then kept healthy. Most teams don’t want that job. They want agents on the phone.

We run the whole stack for you. Server provisioning, ViciBox build, security hardening, SIP trunks and DIDs, patching, monitoring, backups and version upgrades. You keep full admin access and complete control of your campaigns — you just stop being the one who gets paged when a MyISAM table crashes at 2am.

What managed actually means here

“Managed” gets used loosely in this industry, so here is the specific list of what we take on.

  • Provisioning on hardware sized to your agent count and dialing ratio
  • ViciBox install and post-install configuration, or scratch build where you need a specific distro
  • Asterisk version selection and upgrades, with a tested rollback path
  • Kernel and OS patching on a scheduled window, not whenever a scanner finds you
  • Default credentials removed — AMI users, MySQL accounts, admin and agent web paths
  • Firewall scoped to your carriers and your agent IPs, not open to the internet
  • Dialplan patterns restricted to the countries you actually call, which is what stops toll fraud
  • SSH keys only, fail2ban, and log review
  • SIP or PJSIP carrier configuration, including registration and IP-authenticated trunks
  • DID provisioning and inbound routing to your in-groups
  • Dialplan work for prefix handling, caller ID and failover across multiple carriers
  • Codec and NAT configuration so recordings are not silent and audio is not one-way
  • Nightly optimise and archive jobs so vicidial_log does not grow until it falls over
  • Crash detection and repair
  • Offsite backups with a restore we have actually tested
  • Recording storage, retention policy and cleanup

Who this fits

Managed hosting is a good fit if you recognise any of these:

  • You have between 5 and 300 agents and no dedicated Linux administrator
  • Your current dialer was set up by someone who has since left
  • You are on a VPS you configured yourself and have never patched
  • You are paying for a hosted cloud dialer per seat and the maths has stopped working
  • You need Vicidial’s depth — custom fields, AGI scripts, API access — but not its maintenance

It is a poor fit if you want a closed SaaS dialer with no server underneath. Vicidial gives you the whole box. That is the point of it, and it is also why it needs operating.

Onboarding

Migrating an existing Vicidial

Most of our work is moving dialers that already exist, not building from nothing. A migration covers:

  • Full database export and import, preserving leads, lists, dispositions and historical reporting
  • Recording archive transfer, with checksums so nothing is lost in flight
  • Carrier and DID repointing, coordinated with your provider
  • A parallel run where both systems are up, so you can test before committing
  • Cutover during your off-hours, with the old system left standing until you are satisfied

We do not ask you to re-key your data or start your reporting history over.

What determines your price

Pricing starts at $99/mo and scales with the resources you actually consume. The factors that move it:

FactorWhy it matters
Concurrent agentsDrives CPU and memory sizing
Dialing ratioA 4:1 predictive campaign uses far more channels than manual dialing
Recording retentionStorage and backup volume
DID countProvisioning and per-number carrier cost
Single server or clusterClusters need separate telephony, database and web nodes
CarrierBring your own, or route through ours

You get a flat monthly figure before anything is built. No per-seat billing that punishes you for hiring.

Where AI fits

Vicidial’s built-in answering machine detection is heuristic — it listens for tone and silence patterns, and it is wrong often enough that most operators either disable it or accept the false positives. That is the single biggest quality complaint we hear.

We can layer modern speech models on top of a managed instance:

  • AI answering machine detection, replacing amd.conf heuristics with a model that classifies live human, voicemail greeting and IVR far more reliably
  • Call transcription, turning your recording archive into searchable text joined to lead and agent records
  • Automated QA scoring, applied to every call rather than the one percent a human reviews
  • AI agent assist and voicebot handoff, where a bot qualifies and warm-transfers to a live agent

These are optional. The hosting works perfectly well without them, and we would rather get your dialer stable first.

Support

Support is included, not a paid tier. You reach a person who knows Vicidial — not a general helpdesk reading a script.

Campaign-down issues get worked immediately. Configuration requests, new DIDs, dialplan changes and campaign builds are handled as part of the service rather than billed as consulting hours.

Common questions

Yes. It is your server. We ask that you tell us about changes so we do not debug against a config we have not seen, but we do not lock you out of your own system.

Yes. We configure whatever trunk you already have. If you would rather not source carriers, we can route your traffic instead.

You get a full database dump and your recording archive. No lock-in, no exit fee, no holding your leads hostage.

Yes. Multi-server Vicidial with separate telephony, database, web and archive nodes, for operations past a few hundred seats.

Current stable ViciBox with a supported Asterisk LTS release. We upgrade on a schedule with a tested rollback, not whenever a new version appears.

Month to month. We would rather keep your business by running the dialer well.
